.:. NAMES |
Your name should be chosen with great care. We are a Mud based on the Wheel of Time Series from Robert Jordan. All names should fit into the Wheel of Time genre'. If you have never read the books do your best to choose a name and an Immortal will help you choose another if it is not appropriate. Here are some general guidlines for name creation: 1. Please do not name your character after characters in History, Movies, or other Fantasy novels. Examples: LukeSkywalker, Napolean, Drizzt, Garet'Jax, Bilbo, Augustus MickyMouse, Conan, Smurf, Wookie, Kirk, Spock, Yoda, Zeus......Etc. 2. Please no Profanity in your name. Examples: You know what we mean. :) 3. Please do not use actions as your name. Examples: Kill, Speed, Fighter, Hero, etc. 4. Please do not string two words together, using capitols or otherwise. Examples: CatDancer, TreeBoy, SwordChopper, PlantEater, etc. 5. If a name is too similar to another that is currently playing, an Immortal or VisGuide will help you choose another. 6. We are more than happy to help you choose a name that you will be proud of and will fit well in the World of A Moment in Tyme. 7. A good way to choose a name is determine if a mother would truly name her child the name you are choosing. 8. The best criteria is to use common sense, better to do it now than to hold up your authorization. 9. The Imm staff on Tyme reserves the right to revoke particular names, even if they otherwise fit the general criteria. (This includes final judgment on reservation of names, if applicable.) Thanks - the A Moment in Tyme Immortal Staff See also: Authorization, Immortal, Newbie |

Common Language/New Tongue All modern language in the world of the "Wheel of Time" stems from the Old Tongue. All people of the world speak the common language, be they from the Westlands, Shara, Seanchan, Seafolk, or Aiel. It is thought by scholars that the Old Tongue was kept alive through the publication of books printed around the time of the Breaking. The common language, or "new tongue" was a vulgar form of the Old Tongue during the time of the Ten Nations and took over as the dominant language during Artur Hawkwing's time. Trade and invasion throughout the world as well as the continuation of the printed word are most likely the causes for the spread of the common language. For more help on specific languages, please see: Old Tongue, Trolloc, Ogier, Dialects |

You may still receive tells from other players. > notell list This will list the players you currently have blocked. You can notell up to eight people at any one time. Your notell list lasts as long as you are logged on to the MUD. If you quit and log back in the game later, you will need to reset your notell list. They are not saved through logging out. Note that notell does not work on Immortals. They cannot be blocked. See also: Tell, Prefs |
