.:. DECKWORK

A ship is kept ready by the hands working her. Deckwork is the skill
of tending a ship: her boarding plank, her sails, her anchor and her
docking lines. You must have learned the skill, and you must be aboard
a ship to use it.

Syntax:
> deckwork <task>
> deckwork status

Choose gangplank, dock, sails or anchor. Each task reverses its
current setting: raised sails are lowered, for example. Work the
gangplank at the plank itself; do the rest from the deck.

deckwork gangplank raises a lowered boarding plank, or lowers a
raised one. The plank can only be lowered while the ship is docked.
deckwork dock ties the ship up, or lets her loose. She will not
undock while the boarding plank is lowered, nor dock while the anchor
is down or the sails are raised.
deckwork sails raises or lowers the sails. They will not go up
while the ship is docked or the anchor is down.
deckwork anchor raises or lowers the anchor. It will not go down
while the ship is docked or the sails are raised.
deckwork status tells you whether the ship is docked, and how the
plank, sails and anchor are set.

Example:
> deckwork status

Before casting off, Mira asks after her ship and is told she is
docked, with the boarding plank lowered, the sails lowered and the
anchor raised.
