.:. FIRE PROTECTION

Fire Protection

Fire protection is a property of physical armor, not a weave or a command.
Wear armor with this property to reduce the fire damage reaching the body
parts it actually covers. Armor carried in your inventory does not protect
you, and uncovered parts do not gain protection from armor worn elsewhere.

Ratings vary between items. If several armor layers cover the same struck
part, each protects against the damage remaining after the other layers;
their ratings are not simply added together. Fire protection is separate
from physical absorption against piercing, slashing and crushing blows.
It does not change those physical absorption rules. Ordinary clothing and
passive physical shields do not count as protective armor layers here.

If you have the Identify skill, successfully identifying a carried armor
item shows its fire-protection property and coverage. Check the armor you
have; its material alone does not guarantee protection.

Fire protection reduces incoming injury; it does not heal burns you already
have. Settled burns can still leave injured parts. Cure Wounds repairs
ordinary injuries, while Heal also mends fractures in present parts.
