| .:. SPELLS |
If you possess the ability to channel you can learn various weaves, magical spells. In order to learn a weave, you must first make sure you meet its preconditions, then you must find a teacher. Weaves and other channeling skills are taught player to player. Knowing and using weaves Use spells to list the weaves you know. Inform gives information about a named weave. You still need its skill, required flows and prerequisites to cast it; choosing a larger spend tier does not bypass those checks. Follow the weave's own learning restrictions, where applicable. Example: > spells > inform 'fireball' Use Grasp to hold the Source, Weave to cast, and Release to let it go. Weave accepts an optional level from 1 to 4 to select an Endurance tier; without one, it keeps grasp-derived spending. The level is not the weave's complexity. In combat, accepted weaves charge before resolving and occupy your primary action. Combat Channeling explains the delay and your defensive choices. Overchanneling explains the danger of spending beyond your Endurance, including the first cast that takes you below zero. Weave help pages describe effects and choices, not permission to learn every weave. Channeling skills can also be taught through approved RP avenues and set by the appropriate immortals, as the existing Grasp guidance explains.
